Yelle are a three piece French act who formed in 2005 when lead singer Yelle (born Julie Budet) and producer GrandMarnier (drums, backing vocals) began making music, creating their own unique twist on electropop.

This trio was originally YEL, an acronym of  ‘You Enjoy Life’ gained internet success when they posted their first track via MySpace titled “Short Dick Cuizi”, which is now known as “Je Veux Te Voir”. The track went on to receive an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, including attention from their record label, Source.

As the duo got working on their debut album Pop-Up in 2006, their third and final member Tepr (keyboards, backing vocals) completed the lineup. Despite making songs exclusively in French, Yelle have reached a wide audience and gained success in several non-speaking French countries. After the release of Pop-Up in 2007, they then performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and embarked on a full North American tour in 2008. With the release of their second album Safari Disco Club on March 14, 2011 and their slot supporting Katy Perry on the first leg of her California Dreams Tour, this year’s already seems to be a promising one.

With a very impressive and exciting live set, be sure to check out Yelle on their upcoming tour which covers parts of Canada as well as the United States. Dates can be seen at their Official Website, or for more information you can check out Yelle on Facebook, MySpace or send them a tweet to @YELLEtweets.
